A Message from the Owner:
Hi everyone. We have been in business for 10 years and back in March when the Governor shut down businesses like ours, we almost did not open back up. Not only did we go without income for several months, but I had to figure out whether I could find a way to open back up, in the face of Covid-19, in safety for both myself and our clients. We also lost our female therapist who retired once Covid-19 hit which has caused us a lot of lost business even after we reopened.
I am not usually one to ask for help, but this Covid-19 situation is getting worse each day and will get much worse before it is over with. Several vaccines are now available, but the experts are saying it will be well into the middle of next year before even a good portion of the population can be vaccinated. In the meantime, we are fighting to not close our doors. #smallbusinesssaturday
A Beacon of Light
I had a dear, long-time client the other day, get upset when she learned just how close I was to just closing our massage therapy practice down for good (several months ago). I was almost in tears because she acknowledged my gifts and showed true appreciation for all the efforts I have made to make our office a haven of relaxation and renewal for our clients. Oftentimes, clients come in and I never know if what we do is truly appreciated or even noticed. Her words that day, were the seeds to help me keep going in the midst of so much coming at us.
Lots of Business Closures
I have been telling my family lately, just how many businesses I have noticed have gone away. It is taking every bit of faith I have to keep going no matter what. Many massage therapists have not opened back up. One of the Massage Envy in the area closed down. Several hotels are closed for good. A whole slew of restaurants – many that were my favorites – just gone. This pandemic is certainly not going to leave things the same as when we started.
Help Us To Stay Open
We did not receive monies like other businesses. And, when we reopened we were forced to spend a lot of money to change our office to meet the several pages of rules and mandates handed down by the health department, the State of Ohio, and the Medical Board of Ohio. We were also hurt because part of those rules stated couple massage could not be done in the same room. Couple massage accounts for a huge chunk of our business. Now the Governor is, once again, starting to issue advisories, which I feel may turn into more stay-at-home orders, which could adversely affect our business.
